But i’ve definitely emailed myself before β€” easiest candidate screen ever. To keep Calendly from feeling impersonal, I lead with one specific line about their work and then add, β€œTwo times that work for me are Tue 10:00 or Thu 2:30 β€” feel free to suggest another,” with the link as a backup. For exec or sensitive roles I skip the link and loop @Lena to coordinate so it feels higher touch.

Quick example: my Calendly invite offers a β€œ5‑min intro” or β€œ15‑min deep dive” and asks, β€œWhat would make this call worth it?” so it feels collaborative, not robotic. That bump in context improved show rates, though I still skip the link for principal/exec roles and propose two times instead. Also, a 20‑second β€œUndo Send” in Gmail has saved me from the self-email facepalm more than once.
