Did you know about the three coding assessments

I recently learned that the way companies structure their coding assessments can vary significantly. For instance, some startups use live coding interviews, while larger firms might rely on take-home assignments or platforms like HackerRank. It’s fascinating how each method can skew the candidate pool, don’t you think?

This drives me nuts! Those take-home assignments can really drag on. I remember a time we gave candidates a week to complete a task, and it felt like we were missing out on real-time problem-solving skills. I wonder if others find live coding interviews more effective for gauging instant thinking, especially in a fast-paced environment.

Absolutely! I think live coding can really showcase a candidate’s thought process in real-time. But I’ve seen some folks freeze up under pressure. Has anyone else noticed that?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌

It’s interesting how varied coding assessments can be! I think take-home assignments can be effective, but they definitely risk losing the candidate’s momentum if they take too long. I’ve seen candidates really shine under pressure during live coding, but then again, it can be a nightmare for others.
